AcroZig

About

A small game for people who like to write.

AcroZig is a party game built by Spergs, LLC. Three letters, a minute on the clock, and whoever the lobby votes funniest takes the round.

Why

The acronym format is older than the internet. Three letters, think of something the letters could stand for, laugh, move on. AcroZig is that, with just enough scaffolding to keep a small group on the same beat: shared lobby, shared prompt, shared clock, anonymous submissions, a vote, a scoreboard.

It's also a small thing on purpose. We didn't want a sign-up funnel, a "premium" tier, a global leaderboard, a friends graph, or daily push notifications. You open the page, play a round with the people you already wanted to be talking to, and close the tab.

The server is C++17 on Boost.Beast; the client is React. Game state lives in memory while a lobby is active and is gone the moment the lobby is empty. We keep what we need to run the round and nothing else, which is why the privacy page is short.

What it is, and isn't

Is

  • A real-time multiplayer acronym game
  • Browser-only, phone or laptop
  • Free, with no accounts
  • Built around small lobbies (4 to 8 is the sweet spot)
  • Anonymous submissions, lobby voting
  • Ad-free, tracker-free

Isn't

  • A social network or a feed
  • A drop-in for Jackbox or Codenames
  • Trying to find you "friends to play with"
  • Saving your games to a global leaderboard
  • Selling cosmetics, subscriptions, or anything else
  • Done. We add things when they make a round funnier

Who's behind it

AcroZig is built and operated by Spergs, LLC, a Florida limited liability company. We make small focused products on their own brands, and AcroZig is one of them. See the rest at spergs.com.

For anything privacy-related, write to privacy@spergs.com. For everything else (a bug, a feature you wish existed, a particularly good submission your group came up with), the same address works.

Open the game and try a round

It plays best with friends on a call or in the same room. The first round is the slowest one.
